NAKFI Mid-Cycle Grant Review

EICES Director, Shahid Naeem, and Assistant Director, Alex Varga presented their work on science standards for payments for ecosystem services (PES) at the National Academies Keck Future Initiatives (NAKFI) mid-cycle grant review last week. NAKFI awarded EICES $100k to develop basic natural science standards for PES projects and create an online platform to aid practitioners and buyers in developing and investing in scientifically sound PES schemes. The material presented was the result of a meeting held at Columbia University in January that was attended by 35 natural and social scientists, students, practitioners, and business representatives. This workshop produced the first draft set of over-arching principles for scientifically robust PES, which we are currently working on publishing. The second phase of the project will focus on refining our set of principles and creating the online platform

Their work on the standards for PES is awesome. I hope they keep up the good work.
I have read about Mr. Shahid Naeem before too.

An interesting dialogue is value comment. I feel that it is best to write extra on this subject, it won’t be a taboo subject but generally persons are not sufficient to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers eddecfagfcef
